Brief overview of daily activities

  • Day 1:Arrival in Paro to Thimphu

    The flight from Druk Airlines to Bhutan on a clear day is one of the most spectacular flights in the entire Himalayas. Whether flying over the Himalayas from Kathmandu or over the hills of Kolkata, every flight is a fascinating experience . Bhutan Travel provides the beautiful view of snow-capped Mount Everest, Makalu and other peaks of Bhutan such as jomolhari and jichu drake. Once descending at the Paro airport and completing all the immigration and customs formalities, our representative will welcome you and take you to the hotel in Paro. in the evening, take a stroll around Paro’s market and town. Stay the night at the hotel in Paro.

  • Day 2:Dive into Paro Town

    Take a drive towards Bhutan’s modern capital city: Thimphu, which is one and a half hour away from Paro. stop for a break at Chuzom, a place where the Paro and Thimphu river connect. On the way to Bhutan. visit the oldest Simtokha dzong which houses the school for Buddhist studies. Then explore the magnificent memorial Chorten and tashichodzong, a beautiful medieval fortress on your trip to Bhutan Travel. Lastly, visit the handicraft Emporium & textile and folk Heritage Museum. Hold a night at thimphu hotel.

  • Day 3: Serene journey to Thimphu from Paro

    Take a drive towards Bhutan’s modern capital city: Thimphu, which is one and a half hour away from Paro. stop for a break at Chuzom, a place where the Paro and Thimphu river connect.   • Day 4:Traverse Punakha from Thimphu City

    Sightseeing of Thimphu city including the visitation of National library, painting school and traditional medicine institute. After lunch, steer away towards the old capital of Bhutan, Punakha through Dochula pass that provides an enchanting view with 108 chortens. Upon arriving, check into the hotel and take a break. In the evening, take a tour to the 17th century fortress Punakha Dzong and then to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel chorten. Hold a night at the hotel in Punakha.

  • Day 5:Punakha – Wangduephodrang – Gangtey

    After breakfast, take a journey to Gangtey through Wangduephodrang. Tour the magnificent Wangdue Dzong and explore the town’s local market when on your journey to Bhutan Travel. Passing through dense forest of Oak and rhododendron trees lies Gangtey(Phobjikha). Go for a stroll around beautiful Gangtey village and pay a visit to Gangtey Gompa that is believed to be the only Nyingmapa monastery. Spend a night at camp or guest house.

  • Day 6: Gangtey towards Trongsa

    In the morning, explore the Phobjikha Valley, famous for its black cranes on your vacation to Bhutan Travel. These cranes migrated here from the Central Asian plateau, fleeing the harsh winter. After lunch, drive across the 3,300-meter-high Pelela Pass to Trongsa and visit the market in the evening. Hold a night at a hotel in Trongsa.

  • Day 7: Trongsa – Bumthang

    In the prime of day, visit Trongsa Dzong- largest masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture along with Ta Dzong built by 3rd Druk Desi to safeguard the dzong and its surrounding. After lunch, continue the journey on to Bumthang, the heartland of a religious site. Have dinner and spend the night at a hotel.

  • Day 8: Bumthang-heartland of Religious places

    Bumthang is a common name for four valleys such as Chumey, Choekhor, Tang and Ura with an altitude ranging from 2600m to 4000m. It houses many eminent budhhist temples and monasteries. Get to see Tamshing Lhakhang which is known as a treasure house of fascinating Buddhist religious paintings. After that, take a safari to Jakar Dzong where all the administrative work is done . After lunchtime, visit Kurje lhakhang, one of the holy and sacred sites in Bumthang. Next, include a trip to Jambay Lhakhang in your Bhutan Travel plan, an ancient temple built during the spread of Buddhism in the country. Overnight at the lodge in Bumthang.

  • Day 9: Excursion from Bumthang (west) to Mongar(East)

    The journey continues to the east, over rugged terrain. The journey to enjoy the magnificent scenery takes about 7 hours. Drive through the village of Ura in Bumthang before climbing the Thrumshingla Pass (4,000 meters), the highest road in the kingdom. Go to Sengor to see the waterfalls along the way. The descent to 700 m ends on the bridge on Kurichu. Climb the pine forest, cornfields and eastern villages again to reach the city of Mongar. Visit Mongar Dzong, this is a very new building that still retains the old architectural traditions. Check into the hotel in Mongar.

  • Day 10:Mongar-Trashigang

    This journey of 96km takes 3 hours crossing Korila Pass (), is characterized by a beautiful chorten and a stone wall passing through a lush forest full of ferns. Then, the road goes down quickly, entering corn fields and banana trees to reach the famous zigzag of Yadi (new settlement). Follow the Gamri River that leads to Dametsi. This is a place where a temple alighted on top of the steep hill founded by Cheten Zangmo is considered as a most important monastery in eastern part.

  • Day 11: Trashigang (Excursion to Trashiyangtse)

    Go for a quick tour to Trashiyangtse to see the Gom Kora temple set on a small alluvial plateau overlooking the river. Guru Rinpoche subdued a demon in this very place. Then arrive at Dosum Village, where you can see busy women weaving traditional Bhutanese products and witness a chain bridge of the 15th century

  • Day 12: Return to Bumthang

    After the morning meal, proceed back to Bumthang and lunch will be served on the way. Overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

  • Day 13: Bumthang-Punakha

    After strolling through Bumthang market, start the journey to punakha where lunch would be served on the way at the one of the famous restaurants in Trongsa town. Short break at Wangduephodrang for tea and snacks, and then continue the journey to Punakha

  • Day 14: Punakha-Paro

    Enjoy a leisure time in Punakha in the morning. After lunch, drive to Paro and spend a night there.

  • Day 15: Departure from Paro

    After breakfast, drive to Paro airport for a flight back to your respective country.
